Mendez Engineering, Inc. is a civil engineering firm based in Willits, Mendocino County, serving communities throughout Northwest California. About the Founder
Jonathan Mendez, P.E., is the Founder and Principal Engineer of Mendez Engineering, Inc. With over a decade of experience within the construction and engineering fields, Jonathan brings a unique blend of hands-on construction knowledge and advanced civil engineering expertise to every project. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of California, Davis, is a California Licensed Professional Engineer, and is a QSD/QSP-certified professional.
Jonathan’s technical background spans site civil design, grading and drainage, residential and commercial development, fish passage and stream-crossing design, engineering survey, and construction management. Before transitioning fully into engineering design, he worked in the residential construction trades, where he developed a deep understanding of field operations, constructability, and the practical challenges contractors face. He later served as a project engineer, working on large commercial projects for one of the nation’s leading general contractors, further strengthening his construction insight and project management skills.
This foundation in construction gives Jonathan a distinct advantage as a design engineer. His ability to evaluate constructability, anticipate field conditions, and bridge the gap between design intent and real-world construction allows him to deliver practical, efficient, and buildable engineering solutions.
Jonathan founded Mendez Engineering, Inc. with the desire to forge his own path and create a firm grounded in quality, integrity, and community impact.
